Comments
Comments: Lower and upper Orange Trail was generally dry with some minor mud.
Just above the Black Trail and White junction, there's an extended portion of trail with water flowing down the bedrock. Lots of hopping/slippery ledge.
Black and White Trail isn't overly steep on the Whitecap side, but the footbed still isn't too well established on this relatively new trail. There are some steeper sections on the ascent of Black. Quite a few areas of minor mud in the lower elevations.
The gravel access road from the lower towers to the summit communications tower was generally dry with lots of loose rock.
The Black Mountain of Maine ski area is only partially mowed, however the glades have little in way of weeds/grass.
Fall foliage still pre-peak, but some nice areas of color.
