Wedged this one in between hikes to see if there was any redeeming quality (located outside of the park near Northeast Harbor)...not so much as I could tell, but nice woods anyway.
Followed a herd path behind the gatehouse to the private road, then picked up the Elliot Mountain Trail (marked in survey tape mostly). Map house was receiving new roofing...basically a small pavilion with two maps of the island.
No views from the summit, but I didn't descend the other trails to see if there was a vista elsewhere. |
