Plenty of parking at the Eddy Road trailhead for Grafton Loop, our cars were the only ones there. |

Any crossings were small and were easily hopped on sometimes mossy rocks. |

Really smooth sailing, with a mostly well defined and soft tread. |

The bugs weren't bad until we got to Bull Run, then they were horrendous! Mostly black flies, but they wouldn't let us be. |

Day 1 of a 3 day Grafton Loop. Real smooth hiking the whole way to Bull Run (checking out all the tentsites along the way), only saw three other people all day, a group (that we'd seen in the AT lot) out doing the loop counter-clockwise. Sunday River Whitecap is an unknown (to most) gem, that ranks as one of my favorite peaks to date. A really pretty area, that doesn't get much attention, but should. |
