 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
from rt. 160 just south of stanley pond in hiram i turned right onto tripptown road (unsigned) and followed it for under 2 miles to where it runs under bill merrill to the southwest parking at the start of a grassy road in a logged area. the road is blocked by a large log and is wide and grassy. i hoped this was the road that would lead up the mountain and it was. i noted no prohibitions along this route. thanks to amicus for his report from a few years back about this peak. |

 | Comments: |
i followed the road uphill staying straight at a couple early intersections. the road winds right up the southwest ridge with generally good footing. above the logging the woods were beautiful wide spaced hardwoods which allowed continuous filtered views with the leaves down. the road narrowed into more of an atv track up high and leads right up to the highpoint. from there i bushwhacked a short distance northeast to a beautiful open ledge with views to the north and east. great looks to pleasant in the distance and close ups to robbins, cutler and misery. i noted an atv trail coming up from the north to those ledges as well. back at the summit i bushwhacked northeast and found a limited view to the whites that would be completely blocked once the trees leaf out. i then backtracked and followed the road back down. |
