Removed one blowdown on the Twin Brook Trail. Nice new trail signs at trailhead and Twin Brook junction. |

Surprisingly no issues with flying bugs. Picked up some ticks bushwhacking through a meadow, as well as on the summit of Stone Mountain. |

Followed the new (2009) Twin Brook Trail from the Burnt Meadow Trail - very nice work by the Maine AMC. Didn't find the under construction Stone Mountain Trail from the Twin Brook Trail, so bushwhacked part way up, then ran into it. Trail is cleared all the way to the summit and fairly well marked (tape still). Directional views from summit of the Sandwich Range. Trail doesn't yet connect to the Twin Brook Trail - ends about 100 feet from it, at the height of land in the meadow in the col (visible from the Twin Brook Trail). Looks like the one way distance from trailhead to Stone Mountain is around 3 miles. |
