Water Crossing Notes: At approximately .4 miles, the trail reaches a beaver pond which is impassible. To continue, walk about 50 yards to the left (SSE) and cross on the beaver dam, and then return to the trail on the other side by continuing to the right (NNW). The route has been used a number of times and there is now a path.

Comments: A posting at the trailhead indicates that this hike is not possible as a loop at this time because of further beaver activity on the Albany Notch Trail AFTER the junction with the Albany Mountain Trail. You can still leave the parking lot and follow the signs to the summit of Albany Mountain and return by the same route..
