 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at a 4 way junction just off Deer Hill Road (open). |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud, Standing/Running Water on Trail |

 | Recommended Equipment: |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
On the Conant Trail (prior to the split), there's one section of submerged road - you can walk around the side of it, however. On the south Conant Loop, there's at least 100 yards of submerged trail due to beaver activity with no reasonable way around it that I could see. Other crossings were minor and hoppable. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Minor blowdowns on Mine Loop (other than one large old stepover). Quite a few minor to moderate blowdowns on the northeast Conant Trail. Southeast Conant Trail is significantly flooded due to beaver activity. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a bear, as well as bear activity, on the northeast side of the Conant Trail. Also, there's a beaver near the roadwalk that probably wouldn't take kindly to a dog swimming in his pool. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Black flies and a few mosquitoes down low, but not an issue if you keep moving. |

 | Comments: |
Initially tried to do the Conant Trail counterclockwise, however a few minutes up the south leg, the trail was completely submerged from beaver activity. Solid water to the right, and to the left was all marshy, so I aborted a bushwhack attempt and decided to just do Lord Hill via a smaller loop with the Mine Loop Trail. Trails were generally dry with some small sections of mud. Lots of wildflowers. |
