Comments
Comments: Excellent ski conditions from Abol Bridge to Roaring Brook; reasonable by skin ski or bareboot to Chimney Pd bunkhouse on Feb 7; 16.3 mi total approach. Side trip snowshoe to North Basin on Feb 8 due to weather. Chimney Pd to Baxter summit on Feb 9, good broken trail snowshoe to Saddle base then crampons to Tableland over open and covered think crust; ice and hard 'styrofoam' to summit. 2 degrees F in diminishing winds. Sled/ski out on Feb 10 same excellent conditions as in.
