Comments
Comments: This was a great half day hike before the awards ceremony. We went up the Bald Peak trail and over to the Firetower. It is quite wet in places and very steep, however, traction was not a big problem. Above 1800' there was some fresh snow from Friday's storm. That will be gone by now. On the way back we continued over to North Peak and Shawnee Peak. There was some residual snow on the trail behind Shawnee Peak. There is still some snow on the upper slopes of Shawnee Peak. I pulled out a garbage bag and down we went. Lauky thought that was the greatest thing he has ever seen and pulled me down at about Mach 2. When we reach the end of the snow I rolled on down on the grass a ways before I could stop, laughing my head off. A great day!
