park at the sugarloaf base lodge. stay on contour, pass a few condos and you see the very well signed Burnt Mountain Trail |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
there is a back to back crossing (100 yards) of the brook about .6 in. Would have made for wet feet today but a well trodden herd path stays on the left (east) side of the brook. very evident..everyone goes that way |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
while there are a couple of blowdowns and a bit brushy near the summit this trail has a distinct footbed, is well blazed, and was quite nice |

looked at this one several times. Today's plan B and it worked out nicely. Good footbed most of the way, some roots and a few areas scoured out by recent downpours. The trail skirts and crosses many freshly cut glades in the Sugarloaf backcountry area..looks like some pretty sweet skiing in there..hardwoods pretty much right to the ridge. Summit area was windy and wet and you could feel the air changing so I didnt stay long but this has the promise of being an excellent view hike for a short distance. Nice day out..hot shower was excellent afterwards |
