 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is in very good shape -- no blowdowns, no brushing needed, and waterbars are clear and working well. The only point to mention: another blaze or two would be helpful within the last few tenths of a mile from the summit where an occasional herd path offers a different option from the main trail. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |

 | Bugs: |
Deer flies were a real pain the first mile or so of trail, while the trail is still in the trees. Once on the open ledges and the summit, they were not a problem. |

 | Comments: |
This trail is always a crowd-pleaser and makes for a quick trip (1.8 miles one way, 1600 feet elevation gain) to the summit with a number of very nice views from open ledges -- much bang for the buck. While temperatures were in the low 90s nearby, at the trailhead is was 81 degrees and on the open summit not too much warmer -- with a nice cooling breeze and gorgeous views.
One other note: blueberry bushes near ledges section of trail are packed with ripe berries. |
