Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Maine mountain guide mentions parking at brook trailhead for tumbledown and then taking the little Jackson connector to meet up with trail. There is limited parking at the little Jackson trailhead which is listed in the guide as closed though there were 4 cars there today. For those interested - its down a single lane dirt road - the first right after the mountain view cemetery on Byron Road for those coming from Weld Drive all the way to the end and up a short steep pitch - room for about 5 cars - if full there is a grassy spot just down from the trail head.

Comments
Comments: Note that there as been a lot of work on the trail including 2 major trail relocations since I was there last year - trail is easy to follow with excellent blazing the entire way. Trail was generally dry with a few spots of running water though many spots of mud which was avoidable with care in spots. Excellent views up top today from the ledges and the summit - a good mile of above treeline walking from the first ledges to the summit. Hot and humid but a nice breeze up top. 4 cars at the trailhead but saw no one all day.
