Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, July 6, 2013
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The little parking pull-over is 4.6 miles from Rte. 113, on the right. Easy to miss, as there is only a plasticized paper sign for "Horseshoe Pond Trail."
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Trail follows a forest service road for a few 100 yards near the beginning, and where it leaves on the right, on a path through a meadow marked by a boulder, wasn't very clear. The result was a detour on the closed Horseshoe Loop to the shore of that buggy Pond.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Horrible at the Pond, on my detour. Breezes kept them away near the summit of Lords Hill.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Horseshoe Pond Trail; Horseshoe Pond Loop (old section)

A beautiful, quiet trail in the middle of nowhere, with a poignant 1848 gravestone.
