Water Crossing Notes: Blueberry Ridge - crossing right after lower junction with Bickford - water was very high - rocks submerged under 6 inches of fast moving water at crossing - an easier way across about 20 yards upstream though I still had to submerge one boot.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bickford book - large step over blowdown a tenth of mile up from trailhead, Blueberry ridge - a number of stepover blowdowns between summit and upper junction with Bickford, Bickford Brook also had a number of large stepovers, in addition one blowdown you'll need to push through branches and one large crawl under, bickford brook sign at upper junction with blueberry ridge is on ground leaning against a rock
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: In general a good hike for the canines though water crossing today might have been a challenge for some. Water, Water everywhere today.

Comments
Comments: A wet and muddy hike today - Headed up over blueberry mountain to upper junction with Bickford Brook - with the sounds of thunder once I reached the upper junction thought today may not be the best day to visit Speckled so headed down. Bickford down low was damp with some running water, blueberry ridge from stream crossing to summit has a lot of running water and wet rocks. Some of the steeper ledges had lots of running water and were really slick so keep an eye on your footing. Ledges up top on the summit were dry as were the ledges heading up the ridge and you may want to use the developing head paths on the steeper parts until things dry out. Lots of water and mud along the ridge line - there were spots you just had to jump in and cross so boots are going to get wet and muddy. Bickford between the blueberry ridge trail junctions was much drier though there were still many spots with mud and running water. Hot and humid out today kept the pace down a bit. Saw 4 others out today.
