Winter wonderland - easily 18 inches of new snow from last 2 storms, nice sun out in Camden Hills with great views over the Ocean. Many bootprints showed that there were people out though only ran across one person. Megunticook trail - pretty churned up heading up by many people hiking in boots and still a lot of unconsolidated powder heading up; my tracks up and back and those of the other person with snow shoes I saw smoothed out the trail. Broke out Adams lookout trail through nice soft powder with some drifting on the ledges, only evident traffic was a skier prior to the last storm. Took a look down and Tablelands trail heading over to Mt Battie broken out by a fair amount of traffic, heading up to the viewpoint some drifting with wind blown snow and occasional hard crust. Trail over to Megunticook Summit was unbroken. Megunticook heading back down from ocean lookout broken out by few people though still nice deep powder - still not really consolidated - for those interested in those things the steep section heading down would make a great sled run given the snow depth! Trails are perfect for snowshoes |
