Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Haystack Notch Tr: west crossings were OK despite high water; three east crossings were mid-shin deep requiring shoe removal - I decided to barefoot the trail between crossings so I didn't have to put on/take off shoes again; toes went numb until I was able to make the turn onto Miles Notch Trail and run the circulation back to them - OUCH!!!!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Haystack Notch Trail very obscure with downed leaves and no blazes in Wilderness area. Red Rock Trail very difficult to follow as well. I would recommend a compass just in case!!!! Many blowdowns with occasional axe-work along loop.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: would be OK - lots of water; ridge not too scrambly

Comments
Comments: Great day for this loop but chilly and windy; great views in all directions. 40F -ish and a winter chill in air - could see snow squalls north - taste of winter. Never saw anyone all day even during roadwalk.... AWESOME!!!!

NO ice or snow anywhere on loop... yet
