Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Left one car at the visitor parking lot near the Reservation, the other (our starting point) along the side of the road near the trailhead with access to EH26 (see Bioreserve map). Indian Town Road dashed line on map is in terrible condition with car size pot holes. Instead, use Google maps to get from the Reservation to the hike starting point which was across the street from a house at 147 Bullock Road, East Freetown.

Wanted to get a taste of the relatively new 20 mile loop trail. Picked a starting point a little less than halfway around the loop. Had an "adventure" trying to use the official Southeastern Mass Bioreserve map to get from the parking lot to the starting point with the shortest distance. Road conditions varied widely. Don't use this map for car travel! The 8.2 mile loop segment we did was VERY flat, one muddy section but otherwise dry and very easy to hike with few rocks. Trail varies from narrow single track to extremely wide grassy sections. Did the hike in about 4 hours stopping briefly for a quick lunch and to observe ant hills and stone foundation nearby.
