Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: On Bushy Lane in Rutland some friendly Goldens came out of their yard and greeted us. Also on Bigelow Rd in Princeton (same road, really) a friendly black Lab escorted us about half a mile, to the end of the road at West Cemetery. We were concerned that he would keep tagging along for miles. CJ threw a rock against the stop sign, and the loud noise caused the dog to bolt and run back up his street towards home like a greyhound, never even looking back. He was a friendly companion but we didn't want him to get too far from home.
Bugs
Bugs: Occasional swarms of mosquitoes, depending on where we were and what time it was. They diminished towards afternoon. Occasional horseflies.

Comments
Comments: Greatoz and CJ's 6th leg of the south to north Midstate trail. Went 14.7 miles from Barre Falls Dam to Wachusett Ski area. Warm and humid. In the Hubbardston (I think) section we spotted two piles of moose scat, one quite old, the other not that old and also spotted what had to have been fairly fresh bear scat. (had berries that were still green).
