Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Enthusiastic beaver activity has made a few locations on this part of the trail difficult. One place north of the junction with Mass Central Rail Trail can be crossed by using rocks and logs in water. Trekking poles a big help here. Further North along beaver pond the trail needs to be avoided by bushwacking or using herd path in a few places.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: See beaver issues under water crossing notes. Couple of blowdowns on this stretch but not difficult to go over. One stretch of what must be necessary herd path due to flooded trail next to pond has no yellow triangles for awhile. Might cause concern that you are on the trail, but you quickly rejoin the real trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Lots of hungry mosquitoes. Bring plenty of DEET.
