Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Most trail crossings have bridges, thanks to the boy scouts Troop 12.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Intersection signs are rather bewildering. Glad I had the map. http://www.hubbardstonma.us/MtJeff/trailmapnew.pdf Recommend arrows on the signs. Trails generally clear in spite of logging operations.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None.
Bugs
Bugs: Lots of skeeters in the Red Oak/Copper Mine section. Par
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Someone abandoned a tent, which had collapsed near the end of Old Cross Rd. Trail. Looks still usable.

Comments
Comments: Did 6 miles, covering nearly the entire charted area. Boy Scouts did a nice job marking these trails. Litter abounds, mostly from folks who came in to imbibe in nearly every imaginable form of alcohol. Too much for one to pickup.

Mill Pond trail is "deep" with wildlife and forest. Old Cross Rd. for a quick in/out. Muzzy Ridge interesting, clear.

Got distracted by a couple Geocache sites in this forest (found both.) Several moose droppings, but no deer signs. A few horse shoe tracks on Copper. Had planned on going to Cook Pond, but got distracted.

Very quiet other than buzzing of weekend single prop planes practicing their stuff.
