Almost no snow at the Fells! Just a few very small patches of snow/ice.
I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how rugged and scenic the Fells is, despite being a short drive from downtown Boston. There were plenty of views, rock outcrops, and nice woods to keep me occupied. If one was to do a single hike in both sides of the park (east and west) using the Cross Fells Trail as a link, there are some serious opportunities for butt-kicker hikes! I definitely plan to return here in the future and do the full Skyline loop. Just wanted to get my feet wet today (and bag a couple more summits). |
