Comments
Comments: About a 4 mile loop around the southern half of the lake. We mostly stayed on the blue-blazed Lake Shore Trail, but took some detours on the red and white blazed project boundary cleared corridor. The snow started out (at about 10AM) as powdery, but an hour or so later had melted to a sticky consistency, causing balling under the snowshoe crampons. No one had broken the trail after Tuesday's storm, and there were few bareboot tracks even after Sunday's storm. No tracks after about a half mile from the parking lot. First time on snowshoes for Gammy Legs.
