Date of Hike: Saturday, April 3, 2010
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: A small parking area off Kettlehole Drive, near the Lincoln line, is a convenient start for a hike south through Wayland. Plenty of parking at Wayland Depot, for a south terminus.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Considering that many Wayland roads were still flooded in spots from the Sudbury R., we were reasonably happy that only three segements were flooded: (1) Trout Brook Bridge, but I think it could be waded, (2) 200 yards of Sedge Meadows, starting at the bottom of the first field and (3) a quarter-mile of Cow Common, nearest the Sudbury.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This was a working hike - some blazing and clearing, a useful reroute in Trout Brook Conservation Area and scouting for future reroutes.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: None yet. No ticks observed.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A set of keys lost (not by me) somewhere between Kettlehole Drive and the Campbell Rd. entrance to Trout Brook Conservation Area.

Comments
Comments: A summery day made it particularly enjoyable to gather a group of the people most interested in the Wayland section of the Bay Circuit Trail, which is much better marked than when I hiked it in the summer of 2008. We skipped Castle Hill because there is no legal egress fom its south end - our next project.
