Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Barre Falls Dam. Plenty of room. A holiday so normally would have been more cars but I think the iffy weather kept people home. A few folks there playing disc golf.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A couple of brook crossings but not difficult at all.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail through cleared old logged area about a mile northbound of Barre Falls Dam needs brushing bad. Raspberry bushes drew blood. Another cleared area a little further along needs brushing too but at least no picker bushes. Another mile or so further in a good size blowdown has fallen lengthwise on the trail and has turned into a walkaround. There were also a couple of small blowdowns we ducked through and I would have removed but I neglected to bring my Sven Saw.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: We wore repellent, bugs were not a big issue. A few mosquitoes.

Comments
Comments: About 8 miles RT from Barre Falls Dam northbound to Intervale Road and then back. Moose tracks in the mud in Hubbardston near where we saw moose scat a few years ago. Threatened to rain the whole time and actually downpoured the last mile or so coming back. Stopped raining when we reached the car of course. Spotted a beaver in West Branch Ware River.
