Well we were the first on the trail and it looked like the 4 of us were it for the day... on the weekend! This shocked me, but two other ladies were right behind us for the rest of the day as well as 2 other solo people later in the day. It looked like the only snow on the ground were the 2-4†from the night before storm. Half of us used microspikes the other two barebooted it once we got to the right turn in the trail with elevation we all had them on. The wind did pick up and dumped snow on us... and then t started to snow on us. We finally made it to the lodge which wow... people are destroying that shelter with spray paint and beer cans everywhere. Well the next .2 to the peak was about a soft snow cover over sheer ice!!! We went up slow and careful. We stood on the peak for a photo before almost getting blown over and we tried to not slip to hurt ourselves on the way down.... if you know the ski trail way-i would highly suggest to go that way. Well we made it down in one piece and more snow feel til we got on the car. |
