Having only hiked in NH since the cold and snow has arrived we were taken by surprise at the amount of snow on this trail. We had spikes, but wished we would have worn gaiters and carried snowshoes. The final .03 up to the summit is a bear. At one point it took me 10 minutes to get up a tiny but steep and icy section. Only met three other hikers, two wearing spikes, one with snowshoes.
It was cloudy, but we had some lovely views and very little wind. A tough but peaceful hike with my patient hiking partner! |
