Comments
Comments: After a nasty fall on Elmore Mt. yesterday I needed trails that wouldn't require too much upper body usage. Up Stowe Pinnacle Tr. and down the Pinnacle Meadows Tr. worked out well. Lower part of SPT was quite bony with increasing amounts of ice. The steeps below the Meadow jct. and above it had quite a bit of hard ice which could be avoided with the wide trail bed. Above the steeps an enjoyable smoothly packed trail with little ice went to the top. Trail tracked out towards the ridge as well. Pinnacle Meadows Tr. was more smooth ice free trail. Used microspikes all day; more aggressive traction may be preferred when descending. Much less snow here than on Elmore a little to the north.
