Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Mountain Road is good all the way to the winter-parking lot where there is room for 6-8 cars. The piled up snowbank makes it impossible to go further. Just after the snowbank a section of the road has been washed out. It will probably be fixed in Spring but until it has been fixed it will not be possible to drive all the way to the State Park. Distance from the winter-parking to the park is about 1 mile and the walk up is easy.

Comments
Comments: Snowshoes got a free ride today. Below treeline the mono-rail is forming and it solid. Some sections are choppy and potential ankle-breakers - but most of it is pretty good.

Above treeline it is a mixture of ice, crusted snow, snow-fields and rock.

Laura Cowles trail has been traveled but looked very choppy.
