Comments
Comments: Lots of people doing this trail without snowshoes meant lots of frozen post holes and a narrow track. Our group wore snowshoes door to door and smoothed things out a bit. But other groups following may have messed it up again. Snow was powder underneath and won't pack very well. Just wear them! Very windy, foggy, icey on top but so short above treeline that crampons were unnecessary. With a longer and steeper approach, I'd have wanted them. Hike #1 or the day.
