Comments
Comments: About an inch of fresh snow at the base of Laura Cowles trail, increasing to a couple inches approaching top of the trail. Flo wore micro spikes, and I bare-booted most of the way up. Wet, sticky snow made easy steps into the steep parts of the trail. On ridge and on the the Summit (Chin) there were some deep snow drifts to work our way through, but mostly hard packed snowcover/rime ice. Visibility very good. Saw one snowboarder lower down from the Chin. Windy but warm gusts, azure sky. Sunset Ridge trail was rime ice, hard packed, some postholing in snow drifts. Again, very windy. Once off the ridge, lots of snow made a quick decent. An amazing day for a hike.
