Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water flow was in the mid 500 cfs today for the East Branch of the Pemi in Lincoln. We bypassed the two big crossings and were able to hop across Liberty and the upper crossing of Lincoln Brook. Three others we talked to followed the trail in and removed their boots for the two big crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several trees down and lots of mud and water. Nothing out of the ordinary. The trail is a bit obscured on the north side of the Liberty Brook crossing. The water has over taken 50 yards or so of the trail. Owl's head path was easy to follow. Although several route options, they all come back together eventually.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Marlie and Brewer had a good time. Lots of water everywhere except for on top of the ridge.
Bugs
Bugs: The black flies were starting to swarm on the BP whack but not biting yet.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found some old camping stuff covered by a tarp and logs along the Angler's Path.

Comments
Comments: Awesome day out. The sky started to clear as soon as we were on the trail. We set a leisurely pace and stuck to it. Followed 340' from Black Pond to the big bend where Lincoln Brook Tr heads north. Lots of red and white trillium blooming along the way. The slide had lots of running water but traction was still good. A few small patches of snow and ice along the ridge but all were easy to navigate. Angler's Path gives a good prespective of how much the brooks were overflowing last August.
