Removed a few blowdowns on Mt. Tecumseh Trail, and trimmed back a widowmaker on the Mt. Tecumseh Trail summit section (will have to remove later). Limbed a large blowdown on the Sosman Trail summit section, so that it can be stepped over (it was blocking the entire corridor). Limbed back another blowdown near the tower. |

 | Comments: |
Did not need any traction today, though it did start snowing later in the afternoon in the higher elevations. Light traction might be useful tomorrow depending upon what falls tonight, but probably not necessary thereafter, as the trail is almost completely snow/ice free.
The section between the two Tecumseh Brook water crossings is absolutely covered in wildflowers - mostly trout lily, as well as spring beauty and trillium. Some bellwort down low as well.
A little muddy, as usual, between the second crossing and the ski trail vista. Some running water on the straightaway where drainage has yet to be built, but not too bad.
Minimal patches of ice in the higher elevations that are easily avoided. Recent storm did some damage both in terms of blowdowns and erosion in the upper elevations.
Ski trails mostly snow free and generally dry. |
