Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings were hard today. We bushwacked to avoid the first two. We took our boots off and waded the rest. The first one wasn't too bad, just cold. The second was fast, deep and slippery. I got my shorts wet (so did Tim and he's bigger than me.) The third was hard and long. I was up to my thighs. The thrust almost knocked me down. i wouldn't have even tried it alone.

Comments
Comments: Mostly dry trail to start. Still lots of damage from Irene. Grew progressively muddier. Had a really great bushwack (thanks to Tim.) After we rejoined the trail there were areas of running water in the trail and much more mud. Above the slide there were patches of snow and some remaining monorail, which was slippery, but avoidable. We never used traction. The slide had a stream running down it. The rain held off till we got to the parking lot. Thanks Tim for another great day!
