Park at gate on Belknap Mountain Road. The gate is now being opened, so that means folks can drive up to the shorter trails up Belknap now. |

Black flies have hatched and were all around, but not biting yet. Would be wise to have some bug spray in pack though. |

| Comments: |
Nice late afternoon, summer like hike. Bugs out. One trout lily in bloom. Very dry trail. Upper part of this trail has several splitting branch of white blazed trails to the summit. Ascending, keeping to the left blazes is best. Strange red paint all over the trees in the first .2 miles of this trail, stopped at forest boundry sign...vandals? Private land owner marking his property? Logging project? |
