Out and back via South Slide
Livermore Trail was well packed the entire way.
There were no tracks whatsoever on the Mount Tripyramid Trail, there was about 6" to 1' of snow on the trail. There were nine in our group, and we built three quinzhees at around 2800'. The next day we bagged the Tripyramids. On the slide there were 6" or so of fresh snow on top of a breakable crust of ice, on top of unconsolidated snow. The rocks under the snow were tricky in a few spots.
We broke trail from South Tripyramid to Middle Tripyramid. The Mt. Tripyramid Trail was well packed between the Middle and North peaks. |
