Comments
Comments: It was an eclipse party at Roger’s Ledge. Probably 2 dozen people up there. Unbeknownst to me, the Mill Brook trail is the more popular winter route. Wish I knew that sooner. So I had to break trail for 3 miles thru 12”+ of wet heavy snow, often having to bushwhack around when the trail turned to a stream with 4’ drifts on each side. I was the only one to make it to the ledge for the eclipse from this side, several folks behind me turned around, some postholers, some in snowshoes. In the end it was so worth it to see the eclipse from this vantage point. After breaking trail up Airline on Sunday, and then this today, I am ready to put the snowshoes away for the season.
