Comments: This southern-exposure route is mostly melted-out at the moment and the ground is not frozen, so whatever we get in the upcoming storm shouldn't stick for long. If wanting to hike Piper in the near-term future, this is probably the better way to go (as compared to the more shaded Piper Mountain Trail). Some muck in the usual places down low.

Increasingly cloudy afternoon with temperatures around 50.
