Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The one right after Kinsmans Falls was tricky, but crossable. However, the one right after the junction of Basin Cascades Trail and Cascade Brook Trail was problematic. Strong current and high water level. We couldn't find a safe way to cross it, so we decided to turn back and go down by Cascade Brook Trail.

Comments
Comments: We put our snowshoes from the start, but had to switch them for our microspikes for the water crossings. We put our snowshoes back on when we took the Cascade Brook Trail to go down to avoid postholing since it wasn't hard packed enough.
We didn't know that the water crossing after the junction of the Basin Cascade Trail and the Cascade Brook Trail was problematic. If we knew, we would have take another trail to go up. We took this trail hoping to do some redlining (we already did twice the Kinsmans, but never by the same trails). We wanted our group to be safe, so we decided to turn back and do Mt Liberty instead.
We could have bushwhacked right before the first water crossing to avoid the two crossings, but we thought about it too late.
