Comments: A fine day to get out and get some exercise. Needed March 30th for 366 list. Road is bare but very soft, hence why its closed at angle parking. I honestly can't recommend snowshoes for this trip, atleast until we get some snow midweek this week. Apparently people cant be kind and wear snowshoes making for a tricky and tedious trek through this trip. Up until the snapper junction, its not too bad and should freeze into a sidewalk. From here, the higher you go the more exciting the frozen postholes get. It made my duodenum churn (there I won the bet - you can pay me in nuggies Pretzel) There was one that I stepped in to get a sense of how deep the snow was, the only thing that stopped me was my pesky pelvis. Like a small child in their big kid chair, I couldn't even touch the ground despite trying. Thankfully, most where frozen and mostly navigable around. This was not the case on the way down when the sun made a cameo and did it's thing. We ditched our snowshoes at the first view as they where ornamental. There is no fixing this trail until we get more snow or someone brings a flame thrower and melts it. Lots out today, most seemingly looping over to South Peak. Winds elevated but on par for a normal Moosilauke day. Did note two coming from Beaver Brook. No tracks towards cul-de-sac/Asquam Ridge. No tracks on abandoned GBT. Despite much begging, no tracks towards abandoned slide trail. (boo). Ran into Kyle L on the way down. Not often you get 4 grid finishers on the same trail at the same time :) WEAR YOUR SNOWSHOES.
