Very nice trail. You do pass along and through a logging clear cut for about .2 miles down low, but the many nice ledgy areas higher up make up for it in my opinion. Fall colors starting to show nicely. A note for shoulder/winter seasons...there are two forty foot slabs that while only moderately pitch would be tricky with glare or blue ice. Also, blazing up high is mostly on rocks/ low cairns, so route finding in witner might require care.
They are building some kind of huge new tower on Belknap, about 100 yards away on the yellow trail. The concrete footings are huge. |
