I decided to stay close to home on this rainy Saturday so I headed over to the Moose Mountain Conservation area in Middleton. Piper Mountain and Phobes/Nables are small hills but pretty nice. The trails in this area are in great shape. Well marked and well maintained. Special thanks to Jason Morris and crew for all the great signs and trail development. Not much views today with the clouds and fog but the summit of Piper is a cool spot and I recommend it for a short quick hike in central NH. Phobes/Nable was a wooded summit but once the leaves fall there may be better views from that one. It was only 10 minutes from my house so it was a really great break from work for me. |
