from the car I walked up the road to the last house where there is a hikers sign by a field. I then headed across the field to a blazed post where the real trail started. it was good going on an old road for quite a while with several walk over blowdowns. after that the trail varied between wide and narrow areas with one big blowdown that had a bypass in place. the upper 1/3 of the trail was the most wet with muddy conditions and was rougher but not terrible. a good day for views but I'm not tall enough. on descent I stopped at the waterfall but the water is low right now. the last time I did this mt. was 8 years ago from the east. just was curious to do it from the west. no other hikers today. |
