Comments
Comments: A long, long day (we're all old men), started at 5:30a, parking lot at 7:15p. Bushwhack from Black Pond goal is to stay high on the contour and don't wander down in the lowland. Used compass to stay on task when we 'lost' the herd path a few times, worth it to avoid the Franconia Brook crossing. Waters were generally low(why we picked September for this), but we still had two swimmers. The slide was as bad as advertised, take your time, but the views west were magnificent. The summit was forgettable, when you arrive at the old summit you have about .3 miles of level trail north to get to the 'new' summit. Will never, ever do this again. No. 47.
