Started out on the Parker trail to the cliff walk and continued on many of the side trails noted. We didn't see another human until the summit. A feat on this mountain for sure. The trails were mostly dry with an occasional patch of mud ( minor ) down. Stream crossings were low. Saw many crows dive bombing the summit as well as a red squirrel near the summit. What's squirrel doing on the summit? Saw a ribbon snake on the Pumpelly trail. There was a large school group on the summit just after we left ( Whew! That was close! ). As we viewed them from the Red spot trail there must have been 50 or so of them. A few leaves are changing on some of the trees but nothing major yet. |
