Comments: Had a pleasant walk down the Brown Ash Swamp Bike Trail, and observed cellar hole w/ well. Began bushwhack just prior to first swamp (will be obvious) at around 1280'. This kept me well out of private land. Aimed for the col between Cone and the northern bump. Regretfully, I took to the summit too directly. Plus, I bumped into several small rock cairns which I mistakenly thought were a route up through the steep cliff face, but instead, turned out to be a route to a rock climbing cliff. I had a heck of a time getting myself safely out of a steep and dicey predicament. Should have walked through the col a bit more, and tried coming in a bit more from the north. At any rate, made the summit and found the beautiful rock cairn and rock bench as described by other visitors.

Jar dry and in good stead.

Then bushwhacked down to Cone Pond, bumping into fragments of a former trail (occasional treadway, occasional ribbon or rocks). The pond was very quiet and quite pretty.

From there I walked around to the eastern side of the pond, and made an easterly exit, hitting the residential area just upslope from the Welch-Dickey parking area. From there it was a short walk back to the car.

Full loop was just a shave over 4 miles, +1300'.
