Comments
Comments: Redline to Fourth Connecticut Lake, then followed the border swath to Prospect Hill West peak. There is a clear footpath at the junction of the loop trail, but this quickly disappears into tall ferns and brambles. The swath has minor ups and downs, and two steep cliffs that we avoided by bushwhacking through the relatively open woods on the US side. The swath itself has intermittent ATV trails that occasionally allowed a faster pace. One long middle section had thick fern and brambles, and slightly difficult footing on loose rocks and rotting trees when we could not see our feet. Views from the swath are gorgeous. The recognized summit is just a few yards into the woods on the US side of the swath. The canister is on the underside of a large downed tree. The last entry was dated 9/2017. Fun hike!
