Comments: Nice bushwhack to this New Hampshire 300 Highest peak. Mary and I had just started bushwhacking on a overgrown logging skidder road at our parking location and out of nowhere we came face to face (within 10 feet) with a momma bear standing taller than I am and her cub shimmied up a tree right behind her ..... HOLY SHIT>>>> WOW!

We just keep moving away from momma and soon enough we were off that skidder road into nice woods heading for the northern ridge in nice woods. Just below 2150 feet of elevation we hit some pencil pine, some swampy area and then some steeps.

Once at the col we were back in nice wood picking up herd paths, hobblebrush and what not to the recognized high point.

On our return trip we hit an ATV trail for a short distance, jumped off and scrambled down some really cool drainage and ledge area that brought use back to that skidder road and truck
