Comments
Comments: WOW! Just WOW. Spectacular hike. We did a clockwise loop starting at about 7:15. Very flat for the first few miles then about 1.5 miles of serious gain. After about a mile of climb Red Ridge opens up and mostly ledge walk from there to Moat Mountain Trail. We turned right and headed for North Moat. As we approached the summit, there's a boulder face with a chimney on the west side. After scaling the chimney the views open up to the west and it was stunningly beautiful. The entire Pemi Wilderness opened up and we could see all the way to Moosilauke! The summit was equally impressive. The descent starts steep and continues that way for the first 2 miles will a small break about halfway down. Last 2 miles are flat. Savor this one!
