From parking we jumped on the Cohos Trail heading west, went over the Trail Blazers Bridge, past a gated camp on the right and soon hit gated West Side Road. We crossed West Side road and started bushwhacking west in nice wood although a little steep toward a col between Stratford Mountain North Peak and a bump to the south. Once in this col the woods opened up nice as we turned northwest and the recognized high point.
After signing in we on the 2 plus mile trek towards Stratford Mountain South Peak keeping towards the eastern side of the ridge picking up older woods road, herd paths and what not as we went over several bumps along the way. For the most part it was all nice woods as we hit the recognized high point.
After signing in we started heading north for a short distance, turned east dropping down some really steep stuff for a good 500 ft of elevation loss towards West Side Rd, picked up some woods road that ran northeast at easy grade that brought us out to West Side Road and that left us with a couple mile walk back to the Cohos Trail and our truck
Another Great adventure with my beautiful bride clocking in 9 +/- miles and 2000 ft of elevation gain
