Comments
Comments: A short half mile up to the 1223' bump shown on the USGS. The trail is depicted on the Trail Bandit map, and leaves the road just east of the bridge over the brook,

The trail starts as a woods road and shortly passes by an interesting structure. This stretch was a bit damp from showers. At a fork, I turned right onto an older road. This started out clear but became overgrown, although the corridor is evident. The road seemed to end in a small clearing. I pushed through the trees and picked up a very faint foot path, which quickly became quite steep. Losing it higher up, I bushwhacked straight up and came around the backside of the lower view ledge, which has a good look over to the Belknaps and points southwest. The spot elevation shown on the USGS is just a bit further via an easy bushwhack. There is a similar view here, but it's more restricted. The high point is an obvious uplifted ledge. I followed the same route back out.
